We have had a lovely couple of days this week when Summer has returned
in the UK its such a shame our summers are so short and warm sunny days so few
I just love being out doors butterfly spotting
but they only come out on the warm still days so had to move quickly
I managed to get a few shoots I did see a lot more but they move so fast you just cant seem to get focused on them
shame really as a saw a lovely Blue but it was too fast for me!
Never mind the sweet mummy sparrow with her babies made up for it

Look what I have found and it Fits Singer 201K

Singer 201K

Look what I have found
the Janome convertible free motion quilting foot set for low shank machines
will fit my old Singer 201K with a little help from a paper clip
this is Janome Part Number 202-002-004

the paper clip is used just to bring the attachment to the left a little
although the needle does line up with the hole in the foot its a little close for comfort for my liking!
I used the paperclip as that's what I had near but you could use anything really!
when the paperclip is in place the screw that holds the attachment on goes through the paperclip & holds it firmly in place

It comes with 4 different attachments
Open toe, closed toe,
clear view, and quilting plate

I did the freemotion ones below with the old simanco freemotion foot

But for some reason the spring keeps shooting off when i am in full swing
usually traveling in the direction of my face thus making a pair of safely goggles a must!
As I don't think I could sew in goggles so i went on a search for an alternative solution
that's when i found the Janome foot

This is the Jonome foot in action

5am stroll

This morning I just could not sleep
I lay in bed & watched the night turn to day
it was such a lovely morning
I  thought I would take a walk along with the two cats & the camera

Lane in front of the house
Kitties came along too
I think they just wanted breakfast so kept close as not to miss it

walking back towards the house

Flowers by the back door foxgloves are nearly done flowering
will have to save the seeds
Red poppies I sprinkled after we scattered Mums ashes
they are to remind us all every time we see them of a wonderful Mum & Nan

The garden my favorite place of all

Quilting Again

Ok I have been quiet lately just needed some time to myself
I have spent a few hours in the craft room this week making this little cot size quilt
I made it on my old singer 201K I just love the simplicity of this machine & it never lets me down
The Fabric I used for this little quilt was a jelly roll Town & Country by Lewis & Irene
and the pattern was by Ellie Roberts of  craftsewcreate blog  A walk in the park quilt tutorial but with a little tweek

I quilted it with a large stipple pattern & the old machine did a wonderful job
not a stitch out of place
Now all I have to do is give it a gentle wash with a color catcher cachets as recommended by Terry of Terrytreasures blog

Sometimes I want to do so much
But life does not give me time
So many people to look after
I hardly get time to look after myself
My fingers are itching to get sewing
but I just cant start something I know I cant finish
when all my duties end will I still be young enough to do all the things I would have loved to have done

Well that's how I feeling right now
I am sure it will pass & I will start wanting to do things again
I have to drive back & forth to my 88 year old Dads & care for him
at home I have
I son age 32
1 daughter age 23
1 son age 18
Hubby age 60 something
Wash cook clean pick up the mess they leave behind
I have a dishwasher but no one has learned to open it yet along with the washing machine they think is a fish tank!
Lawnmower that only I ever use along with the spade folk wheelbarrow & such
Recycle bins for rubbish but it gets dumped at the end of the kitchen

Oh well I suppose it keeps me on my toes
I thought at 60 I would be slowing down no chance of that!
